FAQ

What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

I believe everyone deserves to have their photos taken, and I want to be a part of that storytelling for my clients. With that being said, I do have to run a sustainable business. Retainers are non-refundable; should you cancel, it gets put on file as a session credit. No refunds are ever given on non-refundable retainers. If you choose to cancel your appointment in its entirety without giving the photographer more than 48 hours’ notice, you will forfeit your retainer. This is an appointment that a waitlisted client could have filled; this then makes it difficult to fill your appointment at the last minute.

Should you choose to no-show for your appointment, no further sessions will be booked or rescheduled, and your non-refundable retainer will NOT be put on file as credit.
No one wants to be stood up; my time is valuable too!

If you decide to reschedule for whatever reason, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule; however, my sessions can book and sell out months in advance, so there may be a lengthy wait time should you move your appointment.
After 2 reschedules or 6 months with no completed session, you will lose your retainer, and a new one will be invoiced to get you back on the books and secure another date.

What is your turnaround time?

I edit my sessions on a first-come, first-served basis; that being said, I pride myself on a fast turnaround time. My sessions are often edited and returned to you via online gallery within two/three weeks of the session date. However, turnaround time is approximate, depending on my current session load.
Should you need your session back sooner, I can accommodate rush orders for a fee.

Do I have to pay a non-refundable retainer and sign a contract?

Yes. Non-refundable retainers and a signed client agreement are needed to book your session time and date. I will send you a personalized booking link, or if booking through my booking site, this is done automatically. This is where you can sign your portrait agreement, pay your retainer, and sign any other forms pertaining to your session. You will also receive an email with an appointment reminder, a potential session location map, as well as how to make your final payment.

How do you handle the weather?

I always try to wait till the day of to make a final call if it is possible. I cannot shoot in active rain as my gear would get damaged. Living in Bruce County, we all know that the weather can swiftly change hour to hour. I like to give my clients a heads-up and stay in communication a couple of days leading up to their session. If we need to go ahead and make the call a few days in advance if the weather looks completely unavoidable, I will do so. However, if you can stick it out and wait a few hours before the session, I would prefer to do that as my schedule books up and out a few months in advance, and rescheduling is not always immediate.

However, should there be any weather warning posted by Environment Canada (blizzard, tornado, heat warning, extreme cold, etc.), your session will be automatically postponed, and I will be in touch to rebook.

What should I wear?

Once you have booked your session and you have received your appointment confirmation email, you will receive a link to my online client style guide, a comprehensive booklet of everything you need to know for your upcoming session.
